Turner Prize 2016

There are four short-listed artists for the prestigious 2016 Turner Prize, each with their own corner of this exhibition. One of them made a giant human bottom, which is very instagram-able but otherwise feels completely unnecessary. Two of them were forgettable, and one of them was rather good.

The good one was Michael Dean's installation which has twisted metal beams and corrugated roofing sometimes painted, sometimes covered with shells. These emerge from a pile of copper pennies like weird tombstones on a metallic hillock.

If you care about brass rings, the short list for the Turner Prize 2016 can be seen at the Tate Britain until the 2nd of January 2017.
